Born and raised in a city that some call 'The Bean', I have always been interested in technology, but never knew exactly where I saw myself in the tech world. The older I got the less interested I was in coding and the more interested I became in the why and how of human communication and behavior.
It was thanks to a pink sticky note that I realized I was able to connect the two. During job shadow day in high school, I ended up at Brightcove, a video software company in Boston. While we visited different departments, I kept a pink sticky note of the roles and skills that interested me.
• User experience • Analytics • Video production • Usability testing
Near the end of the day, the Director of Brightcove's User Experience department ran me through a quick usability test of an amusement park website. I remember being frustrated with the website while simultaneously realizing that these are the problems that I want to solve. During my junior year in college, I completed a user research internship with Brightcove. I have been in the world of UX since then, focusing on qualitative research, clear writing, and stakeholder collaboration.
